Participate in the Speakers Bureau

Are you interested in …

  • Speaking outside of your Club setting?
  • Speaking before a non Toastmaster audience?
  • Giving longer, perhaps more sophisticated, speeches of your choice before an audience?
  • Representing District 73 in your schools, businesses and community?

Then, you need to join the District 73 Speakers Bureau!

What is the Speakers Bureau?

Members join a Toastmasters Speakers Bureau to turn their presentation skills into a showcase opportunity or to gain even more public speaking experience. The Speakers Bureau acts as a resource, helping organisations and individuals make contact with talented speakers who can fulfill their needs.

What are the membership requirements?

The District 73 Speakers Bureau is open to all District 73 Toastmasters in good standing and who have achieved a minimum ATM B status. If you are comfortable speaking in your Club and are ready for the next challenge – the Speakers Bureau is for you! Simply fill in the Speakers Bureau Application form and return it to us.

If you don’t meet the minimum requirement and you feel you ought to still be considered please tell us why in the Speakers Bureau Application form.

Web page registration

Eligible Toastmasters are invited to complete the Speakers Bureau Application form and submit it to the Speakers Bureau Coordinator. Your application will be reviewed and you will be notified soon after.

The Speakers Bureau will feature an Index of Speakers including your portrait picture alongside a short descriptor. Within the descriptor will be a highlighted link to your personal biography including your contact details and web site, if you have one. It would be appropriate to make this page user friendly by describing what you are prepared to do, experience, testimonials, preferred presentation themes and so on. This is the page an enquirer will judge your suitability.

In the near future there will be the capacity to incorporate a linked oral recording allowing the enquirer to actually hear you speak.

If, at some later stage, your circumstances change you can amend your published details by contacting the Speakers Bureau Coordinator.

Engagements

It is the intention of District 73 to act only as a facilitator of speaking engagements. All communications will necessarily be between the client and the speaker. On occasion an enquirer will contact the Speakers Bureau Coordinator who will then advise the enquirer of the options most suited to their circumstances.

You should read the Policies and Procedures document of the District 73 Speaker Bureau.

As the client is the final decision maker on who they wish to speak at their function District 73 cannot promise to find Speakers Bureau engagements for everyone. Conversely, you will not be expected to accept more engagements than you feel comfortable with.

This really is a great opportunity to put your professional stamp as a speaker to the World! If you have any questions please email the Speakers Bureau Coordinator or phone 0419 378 462.
